A Warm Embrace Initiative in Partnership with local Lakota Leaders
(Inspired by CBF’s Partners In Hope Rural Poverty Initiative)

Initiatives

Star Quilt“The Gathering”-Lakota Star Quilt/Craft Cooperative
Gathering Area—sales showroom complete with history/display of Lakota Star Quilts
Sewing/Craft Room—location of  quilting and sewing machines for rent/use; place to gather to make craft items
Craft Supply Store—store for purchase of quilting, fabric and other craft supplies by local quilters
Small Business Incubator—business support, display area, potential rental space for small business owners  

Thrift/Outlet Store
Provide gently used clothing and household items for resale and, ultimately, provide new clothing at outlet prices

  Full Service Laundromat
For Bridger area residents to do their laundry at an affordable price.

   

Dental/Medical Room
Fully equipped to provide a location for dental and medical teams to provide services on a consistent basis.

Hotel Rooms for visiting Medical/Dental teams
One Men’s Dorm with 2 Bunk Beds and a full bath and one Women’s Dorm with 2 Bunk Beds and a full bath. (Eight Beds)

Café Area
A full kitchen and dining room area totaling approximately 680 square feet for use by The Bridger Project, visiting work teams, and future restaurant development.   
 

Groundskeeper Apartment
A studio apartment for 1-2 people for maintenance and security.

Bridger , South Dakota (on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation) in collaboration with The Bridger Project.

Par tners Needed

I.  Financial Support

First, we are asking for prayerful consideration of a personal and/or group donation to the Warm Embrace CREDP to cover construction and operational costs.   We are currently fundraising to meet a Summer 2006 anticipated construction and completion date.

 II.  Skilled/Unskilled Labor

Secondly, once we have reached our fundraising goal, we are asking for prayerful consideration of volunteer labor, both skilled and unskilled to construct this building.
